Lovely vintage set of 5 ceramic plates featuring blue stripes from the 1970s by Winterling in excellent condition.

Winterling porcelain has a rich history dating back to 1907 when seven Winterling brothers founded the company in Röslau, Bavaria, a region renowned for its high-quality porcelain clay. The company, initially established as Gebrüder Winterling O.H.G., expanded its operations in 1917 by acquiring the Oscar Schaller porcelain factory in Schwarzenbach.
Throughout its existence, Winterling became known for producing fine porcelain and was highly regarded in the German porcelain industry. The company's growth continued, and in 1950, it transformed into a joint-stock company, merging multiple entities. Four years later, in 1954, Winterling opened another factory in Bruchmühlbach, further expanding its production capabilities.
Winterling's product range included traditional porcelain serving and dinnerware pieces, as well as finely crafted modern designs influenced by pop and op art. The brand's popularity extended beyond Germany, with its products found in shops and on tables worldwide for over a century. One of Winterling's most enduring and popular designs is the traditional "indian blue" pattern, also known as the "straw pattern".
