BIO:
Olaf Von Bohr was born in 1927, grew up during the 1950s, and was inspired by the artistic atmosphere of the time. During the Post War period, New York City became the international focus for Modernism. Many artists travelled to the city after fleeing in exile from Europe throughout the Second World War, culminating in a merging and amalgamation of talent and ideas. In New York, influential Europeans such as Piet Mondrian, Josef Albers, and Hans Hoffmann inspired American artists and influenced cultural development in the United States for many subsequent decades. Significant artists of this period included Jackson Pollock, Willem de Kooning, Mark Rothko, Frank Kline, Barnett Newman, Clyfford Still, and Adolph Gottlieb.
