Vintage yellow plastic sliding shelf and organizer box from the 1970s by Prisunic in excellent condition.

Prisunic was a prominent French variety store chain founded in 1931 by Maurice Farhi, Pierre Lanuionie, and Henry Reichenbach. The company was created to compete with the Uniprix chain of stores, offering affordable non-food products, groceries, confectionery, and some fresh items.
In the late 1950s and early 1960s, Prisunic became a trendsetter in French retail. Designer Andrée Putman became the artistic director in 1958, and the company played a significant role in popularizing ready-to-wear clothing in France. In 1965, Jean-Pierre Bailly designed the iconic Prisunic logo: a flowery target in the center.
At its peak in 1970, Prisunic operated over 350 stores in France. However, the chain faced challenges in the following years, and by 1997, it had reduced to 111 stores, mostly in Paris and its suburbs. That year, Monoprix acquired Prisunic, leading to the integration of its stores into the Monoprix network. The last Prisunic store closed in 2003, marking the end of this influential French retail brand.
