Bauhaus industrial articulated desk lamp in cream enamelled steel, ceramic socket, and a cast iron base worn to honest patina through decades of use.
This lamp carries no manufacturer mark, which was standard practice among the German industrial lighting workshops of the Bauhaus period. Its form is consistent with Kandem production from the late 1920s and early 1930s, the pivot joint allowing independent adjustment at both the shade, the cream enamel over steel construction, and the ceramic E27 socket are all characteristic German industrial output of the period.
Multiple online sources attribute formally identical unmarked examples to Marianne Brandt; without documentary evidence that attribution cannot be confirmed, but the formal lineage to Kandem's Bauhaus-era production is clear.
The lamp is in heavily used vintage condition consistent with a working life spanning almost a century. The cream enamel shows surface wear and the cast iron base carries significant rust patina on the underside. The red collar at the neck joint remains intact. The original coiled cord is yellowed but still intact. The lamp is fully functional.
