Vintage EMSA Samba vacuum flask bundled with three Randwyck Holland glass mugs which form a functionally complete and visually coherent set from the graphic postmodern design moment of the 1980s.
The EMSA Samba is one of the more distinctive vacuum flask designs of its decade in black ABS body and a bold multicolor fan graphic. EMSA produced this model in West Germany during the period when everyday domestic objects were being treated with the same graphic ambition as designed collectibles. The red lid and red accent stripe anchor the palette and make this piece read as intentional, not incidental.
The three Randwyck Holland glass mugs complete the set with characteristic Dutch restraint. Clear borosilicate glass with black ABS handles and bases, the transparency providing a deliberate visual counterpoint to the opaque flask.
Flask is in good vintage condition with minor surface scuffs consistent with use. Mugs are in very good vintage condition with normal wear. The set functions as intended and photographs as a unit.
