Vintage Wittner LP record rack, West Germany 1970s, in brown ABS plastic, six-slot vertical dividers, the curved bracket profile giving this functional object an unmistakably sculptural presence on a shelf or desk. Can also be wall mounted.
Wittner produced these record racks during the peak of the vinyl era in West Germany, when even everyday domestic accessories were being resolved with the same ambition as designed furniture. The profile is the detail that lifts this above generic storage, the curved bracket sweeps from base to back in a single uninterrupted arc, the six vertical dividers emerging cleanly from it. It can hold up to 24 LP records upright and stable.
The rack is stamped on the base with the Wittner mark. Brown ABS plastic in good vintage condition with minor surface scratches and scuffs consistent with age and use, no chips or cracks.
